Nowadays in the digital age a company’s main way to make some money in the market is to release products on a regular basis. With the level of speed and momentum that the technological developments in this age have, the portable music player that you bought in the store is probably obsolete just a few months later and indeed that jives with when the company usually has their next release. Transcend is no different in this respect and for that reason they have now released one more music player onto the market.

The newest Transcend player seems to be different from some of the previous incarnations in the sense that instead of going for an over the top design, Transcend has instead gone for a design that is more minimalist in orientation and a colour that is a dark red and therefore more subdued than some of the other players. The casing is pretty straightforward however, but it is what’s inside the casing that’ll likely interest you more.

The LCD display that the T-Sonic 840 has is 1.8″ with a colour TFT designation and the overall player has the ability to support file formats of BMP, JPG, MP3 , WMA, DRM10, WAV and MTV. While this is not as extensive as some of the other music players, at the same time it is good enough to allow you to play most of your music files and view most of your picture files. The battery life of the unit is rated as being 30 hours of audio and you can also use it as a combination portable music player and digital voice recorder if you wish. It also comes with FM radio, world clock and an overall interface that allows you to choose from 13 different common languages.
