The idea of creating this gadget was plotted by William Heath in honor of his friend Lily, who passed away in a deadly collision with a drunk driver. After getting shocked and hurt with this terrible accident, William thought of making this bike. The Lilybug is not only a service but as much as it’s a bike too. Assume you are drunk heavily and having fun in your pool party, but oops! You are not able to drive home. No worries at all! Just give a call to Lilybug and it will send a fearless and brave designated driver to your location to drive you and your car home safely. The bike can be folded up and fitted in almost every type of car or trunk so they have a way to get back to their office or set off to the next needy to reach home safely. The cost of this service is dependent on mileage, but on an average it comes out to be $40 an hour. Lilybug service contributes a fixed percentage of their earnings to Lilybug Foundation, which monetarily aids families that are hurt by drunk drivers and MAD.

Apart from calling to get Lilybug, you can also rent the Lilybug independently for $50 an hour, with a two hour minimum time. Lilybug has been made by DiBlasi R7Es and can be folded up to a very small size of 30.7″ x 14.5″ x 24″.

The Lilybug and the service, is currently being tested in the Southampton, Hampton Bays, Shinnecock, North Sea, Watermill, Bridgehampton and East Hampton areas of New England, but advance bookings outside can be made if need be. The Lilybug scooters can also be seen parked at party hotspots during the weekends when festivities are at its peak. No doubt, Lilybug makes a remarkable service to human welfare but alas! We can’t purchase them. It’d definitely make a great backup in the car in case it breaks down and you still got to have something to drive you home.
