Future versions will move to Intel’s Atom platform, however there is no official date yet set for that upgrade. Hot off the presses, the Classmate 2 went live for sale but a few days ago on April 2nd. Geared towards the younger generation, primarily those between 6 and 12 years of age, the laptop comes standard with Windows XP and MS Office, giving them experience with the platform and software suite they’ll likely encounter in the near future of their computing us.
