We all love the Cintiq interactive pen display and now Wacom has released a compact version of it just in time for the holiday season. In case you were wondering all of the features that could be found on the original 21 in. full sized model are still available for this compact tablet.

The new device – which is selling for $1,800 (1,200 Euros) – has already hit the stores and attracted consumers to its unique design. The new display features dimensions at 405×270x1 mm. and a 12.1” TFT screen that offers 1280×800 in pixel resolution. With it you can draw, paint, and sketch. It is any artists dream gadget.

While anyone can purchase the 12WX – it is mostly geared to professionals who make their living off of creating digital content. Some of the jobs that they can work on are storyboards, finishing, re-touching, and composition. If you are looking to share your work through digital format than they have made the traditional sketchpad available – which allows you to send and share anything quickly.

As is done with the larger model – users will be able to use the pen (which is pressure sensitive) directly on the screen. The screen works well with whoever is using it also by allowing you to lie it flat down on any surface and having the ability to swivel in the direction you need it to. The display that is made available with it allows the user to angle it at 25 degrees, 65 degrees, or flat.

One of the best features that we have found for the 12WX is the different ways that it can be used for. It can be used as a computer monitor by replacing the screen you would use for your home desktop or even your laptop. You could also put it next to your already existing monitor and create for yourself a dual monitor – which makes it easier for those who are working on multiple projects are just larger projects.

The new Cintiq 12WX is easy to use and come with the Coral Painter Essentials software – which will help you to understand what to do. This would make a great gift for anyone who is inspired to become a digital content creator or for people who draw as a hobby.
